Small Business

Divisions conduct socioeconomic subcontracting programs in recognition of compelling social and economic necessity. We facilitate the achievement of our negotiated subcontracting goals by developing the capabilities of, and pursuing opportunities to award subcontracts and other procurements to, Small Businesses (SB), Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB), Women-Owned Businesses (WOSB), Veteran-Owned Businesses (VOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SD-VOSB), HubZone (HUB) Businesses, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Minority Institutions (MI), and other size standard categories as defined by FAR 52.219-1 and utilized in accordance with FAR 52.219-8. In furtherance of these objectives, we maintain a supplier diversity program designed to develop the growth and competitive capabilities that will enable such businesses to become responsible suppliers. Division participation in the government Mentor-Protégé Program is encouraged.

By policy, we consider qualified subcontractors and suppliers fairly in competition for requirements falling within their demonstrated capabilities. This policy applies to government contracts and, to the extent practicable, commercial programs.
